Exploration and discovery at the Arboretum

We offer monthly family walks and activities designed especially for children to explore seasonal topics through learning and doing. In our summer camp, children explore Arboretum trails and habitats through observation and engaging activities.

Free Family Nature Programs

On the first Sunday of the month, we offer Family Nature Walks geared for families with children elementary age and younger.

On the third Sunday of the month, we offer Family Nature Programs geared for families with children elementary age and younger. These programs include a naturalist-led walk followed by nature-based activities.

Learning Together

On the second Tuesday of each month, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., we will share stories, an outdoor nature walk, and nature arts and crafts. Activities will be both indoors and out. We will also spend time in our outdoor children’s activity area. Learning Together is for preschool-age children and their adult caregivers. Adults must attend. There is a fee for this program. Meet at the Visitor Center.

Earth Focus Day Camp

Since 1991, Earth Focus Day Camp has created outstanding summer nature programs for children. EFDC helps children develop an understanding of how ecosystems work, nurtures a sense of wonder for nature, and guides children as they explore the habitats, plants, and animals of the Arboretum. Children are empowered to be a positive influence on their world. Our naturalists are enthusiastic and experienced, but the real teacher is our most treasured resource: the land.
