We can tailor tours for scouts, 4-H, and other youth groups according to interests and needs. Topics include bird study, archeology, environmental science, forestry, gardening, geology, insect study, mammal study, nature, plant science, reptile and amphibian study, soil, and water conservation.

Girl Scouts can earn Naturalist Badges while on a tour at the Arboretum. We recommend a 60- to 90-minute tour. Choose an idea from below or we can tailor a hike to your interests.

  • Daisies: Work on Make the World a Better Place by enjoying a seasonal walk
  • Brownies: Work on Bug Badge by taking a bug field trip
  • Juniors: Learn all about flowers for the Flower Badge
  • Cadettes: Learn about trees for the Tree Badge
  • Seniors and Ambassadors: Learn about water for the Water Badge

Boy Scouts can also work toward merit badges on Arboretum tours. Information and activities can be applied toward Webelos as well as the following Boy Scout badges:

  • Forestry
  • Geology
  • Naturalist
