In September and October, fiber art by members of the Madison Contemporary Fiber Artists (MCFA) group will be displayed in the Steinhauer Trust Gallery. The works explore connections with nature – personal, historical, cultural, creative, scientific, and ecological.
MCFA is a group of diverse artists who share a passion for creating original art from fiber. The group fosters the growth of members by providing a forum for exploring contemporary design and fiber manipulation techniques, critiquing work, and stimulating creative energy. Artists’ work currently includes art quilts, surface design, stitching, beading, weaving, felting, wearable art, and mixed fiber media. MCFA members are dedicated to promoting fiber as an art form.
