The Visitor Center auditorium and classrooms may be rented for events that relate to the Arboretum mission. As a research and educational facility, the UW–Madison Arboretum room rentals are not available to individuals for private classes, meetings, conferences, parties, weddings or other ceremonies, or for fundraising events. See the Room Rentals page for guidelines and fees.
The Arboretum is a popular, much-loved landscape for photographers. Photography for personal non-commercial use is allowed without a permit.
Amateur and professional photographers taking posed or formal pictures (for example engagement, wedding, senior year, family) must obtain a permit. Stock and commercial photography requires advance arrangements. All photographers and clients must follow Visitor Etiquette. Go to the Photography Policy page for information and to purchase a permit online.
Arboretum Drive may be used for running, cycling, and walking events—however, all events must be permitted and adhere to our guidelines. See the Athletic Events page for more information.
