The Arboretum’s paved roads may be used for running, cycling, and walking events – however, all events require a permit and may not interfere with the teaching, research, and public service mission of the Arboretum. Liability for any event-related incidents rests with the event organizers, who must arrange appropriate medical support. Applications must be submitted 2–8 months in advance of the event and must include a map of the course, first-aid plan, and volunteer plan. Please read the full Athletic Event Policy before applying for a permit.
